Unfortunately when I received this adapter I tried plugging it into multiple different monitors with my very new (less than 3 month old macbook) and was disappointed to see no image every time. In the end I scheduled an appointment with a "Genius" and went to the apple store and they said it was a bad adapter and gave me a new one. I'd still say it's worth buying because it is the actual apple product, so if your like me and something does happen, an apple store can still take care of you. Moral of the story, Buyer Beware.

LCD projectors seem to always be equipped with VGA connectors, so this adapter is crucial for anyone who has to give presentations using a recent Apple laptop with a mini DisplayPort connector. The adapter works as advertised. Plug it into the laptop, plug the projector or monitor cable into the adapter, and you're in business. It's a shame Apple stopped including these with their pro laptops a few years back, the adapter is a bit pricey when sold separately.
