Product Description The Apple USB Ethernet Adapter is a simple, one-piece external adapter that plugs into the USB 2.0 port of your MacBook Air to provide 10/100BASE-T performance. Simply plug your Ethernet cable into the RJ-45 connector - no external power is required. It's small, light, easy to install, and even easier to use.

Necessary for MacBook Air March 22, 2010 Robin L. Downey (Seattle, WA USA) This was part of a gift for my collegiate daughter whose remark to me a couple of months later was, "...and the extra things you included were perfect!" Really should not have been necessary; I guess something has to be left out when producing a landmark product like the Air.
Don't BUY (unless you need 2) - Already included in the new MB Air! January 28, 2010 Jeffrey F. Rector (Tokyo, Japan) 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
This item comes standard in the MBA box. Unlike previous versions, now you need to buy the video adapter if you plan on using an external monitor.
Works well July 9, 2009 Donovan Watts (San Francisco, CA USA) Works as expected. Gives my Air some breathing room. Now a part of my laptop bag.
It works. April 22, 2009 Gary Pinnell It works. What else do you need to know? Plug it into the USB, add the Ethernet cord, and you'll get the Internet. Sure, Apple ought to supply one with each MacBook Air, but it doesn't. There will be times when you need the Internet, and can't get it wirelessly. This device weighs a few ounces, so stick in in your briefcase. Don't leave home without it.

If you are worried about the effects of radio waves on health then this is the essential alternative to wi-fi. Works seemlessly.
